I agree with Elaine that the existing equipment is OK - my four year old niece is happy to spend ages in the play area when she comes to visit - bur Sarah is right in saying that extra provision should be made for smaller ones. Above all it's a shame that it looks uncared for and shabby - surely the council could spare a bit of time and money to improve an important and much used part of an otherwise pretty pleasant and well cared for green space?

I like the play equipment generally. (I have a 20 month old son). I think the existing equipment might need painting. Any new equipment should be safe and interesting. There needs to be toddler equipment and equipment for older children. What about a separate adventure playground area?

I would also really like to see the old stables behind the library turned into a cafe.

Also the public loos need to be open for longer hours including weekends in the summer.

there needs to be more done to the playground to make it better for toddlers and smaller children. at the moment it's difficult for them because of the older children shoving and pushing. ideally a seperate play area would be best.
also needs more up to date stuff, and more to be done to keep out the vandels that destroy everything.
needs to be bigger, better and brighter and friendlier for toddlers and small children/babies.

We are interested in any ideas which you may have for improving the playground. We will then work with Sheffield City Council and independent funders to try and put improvements in place.
