Sponsors and Donations
The Friends of Hillsborough Park would like to thank those organizations that have helped us over the years in order to improve facilities in the park or support events that we have organized. These include:
B&Q
Over the past year B&Q have generously given us a discount on tool purchases, 3 free wheelbarrows and a £250 “Better Neighbour” grant.
South Yorkshire Charitable Foundation
SYCF supported the Wind in the Willows with a grant covering the costs of advertising the play and the cost of hiring the performance company. SYCF were also a major sponsor of the 2007 Christmas Festival, providing funds for all of the entertainments.
Rhyme and Reason
The children’s bookshop at Hunters Bar gave us book tokens to give to the competition winners associated with the Wind in the Willows.
Sheffield First for Health
SFFH gave us over £500 for plants and garden tools that have been used by the Friends, volunteers and other workers in the Walled garden.
Swann Morton
Have donated presents for Santa’s Grotto at the 2005 and 2006 Christmas Festivals
Sheffield Wednesday
Gave us a signed football which produced funds to buy presents for Santa’s Grotto at the 2005 and 2006 Christmas Festival
Sheffield City Council
Provided a grant to cover the entertainment at the 2005 Christmas Festival and the advertising costs for the 2006 Festival
The SOAR Community Chest
Which provided funds to set up the Friends in the first place and subsequently gave us grants for the 5 picnic tables around the multi-sports and playground areas and for the 6 new trees in the Park.
New Barrack Tavern
Have periodically provided us with free use of a room – on the understanding that we drink some beer (seems like a fair exchange).
Local Businesses
Several local companies supported the 2006 Christmas Festival by donating raffle prizes – these included Sheffield Theatres, McDonalds, Robert d and Bogart’s hair salons, Hillsborough Co-op, M&S, Boots, Pizza Hut and Wilkinsons.
